mental illness: how would you react?

Mental illness is not contagious, so what's to act about? A lady at my church asked me to take her to her doctor's appointment. I had to work this one out in my mind when I realized we were at a mental health clinic. I said nothing to her about it. As we became closer friends, she opened up to me and started to talk about it as you would about any other illness. I came home and did my research so I would not be totally ignorant about what she is going through. I also want to be able to help if she needs me. I guess the answer is react with love and understanding and respect her right to privacy.

i would still be with him or her....and espicially me as i always try to see first by how the other person sees the world.....
