Wouldn't it be nice if...

1. we also respond to our friends' discussions, and not just think of adding more points (and earnings) to our credit? 2. we try to comment on the respondents' responses that need to be answered/addressed? 3. we stop asking about myLot earnings and other specifics that could be addressed directly to myLot (unless the answer is very vague)? 4. we stop our impulse to be rude to other members just because they don't have the same views as ours? 5. we stop putting up senseless discussions that would surely not in any way contribute to the betterment of the site? (For example, do we have to post that we're going to leave?) I'm sorry about this. I just need to express what I know others have already expressed before, but are still not being addressed. You can add more if you like, or you can oppose any of the above. This is our community. Let's make it better. Happy myLotting!

I answer my friends discussions first- I pick friends by interest so most of the discussions they start catch my interest. I agree that people can disagree with tact- class... There is no reason to be rude to other members- that just gives you a negative- I'd be bored if everyone on here agreed with me- What kind of world and website would that be? It doesn't bother me when people ask about mylot earnings I dont usually answer those because I haven't figured it out yet either! good suggestions- I hope some people take them to heart-

Thank you so much. I know there's so much more that others here would add to the ones mentioned. Understandable about the earnings, because myLot is not very transparent about it. The problem with myLot questions sometimes is that members tend to compare each other's earnings and some would even exaggerate, creating more problems than solutions. Thanks again for the response!

What a great discussion who have here! It would indeed be nice if all my friends would respond to my discussions as I try to respond to their discussions. Now I feel what Grandpa Bob may have been feeling when he started to delete some of his 'friends'. I have those who are in my list whose discussions I try to respond but they just never returned the courtesy. As to earnings, I don't care much anymore. Most who asks about earnings are usually the newbies, like I did when I started here, so I guess it's just natural. As to being rude, well, I make a point to be as polite as I can be. However, there may be times that I just can't seem to help putting my foot in my mouth and unknowlingly offend one of my friends. One more thing that I keep lamenting though, is getting senseless responses and I just hope they just put more effort and thought into their responses.

Yes, I kind of have gotten emotional there (when I was writing this discussion). I know how others would feel like, too, when they delete their friends. It's a sad thing to do, but then we should somehow help one another in the spirit of being good contributors to the community apart from giving quality discussions/responses. You're a good contributor here, I know. There are lots of others there, too. I just hope that those who don't care about quality would also get the realization of what's better to do here. About the earnings, I just don't like members comparing in the sense that others exaggerate their earnings too much and it affects the newbies. Thanks for the response!

Absolutely! Unfortunately, in a paid internet forum like this, there will always be those who are just here for the money and could care less about quality or helping others. Still, plenty of us strive to make myLot a friendly, enjoyable place, and act and post accordingly.

I'm glad to hear that, BunGirl! I hope that with more people in want of a better site, the others would come to realize that it's better to join the crowd, so to speak, with more quality discussions and with more willingness to contribute. Besides, there's nothing much to earn here. Well, just my opinion. Thanks for responding!

When I first joined myLot it was a totally new concept to me, and I really had no idea how the site operated. It's taken awhile for me to find my way around, and I'm sure there must be others who feel the same. I do my best to read through my friend's discussions, and to respond to the ones that I actually have something to contribute to. I agree too, that it's a good idea to look through some of the ones that have 0 responses, and see if I can help in any way, as I feel bad to see so many people getting no responses or hardly any at all, and I'm not sure of the reason for this. Some of them are really good topics etc. too.

Hi! Welcome to myLot! You're relatively new, but it seems like you've already learned your way around here, and you could also have gotten some insights about the site and its members as well (as some of the things that you've mentioned). I'm been here for 3 and a half months now to be exact and I guess I'm not to be considered an "old" member. When I was starting, I've also discovered that there are a lot of discussions from newbies that are good/better but don't gather much responses (if they gather any at all). There's already this "friendship" thing and reputation thing going on around here, but it takes getting used to, actually. In the near future, we would be old members and there will be newbies, and that's the way it goes. My only concern is that the site is growing so fast, and the rules aren't being kept or followed as they should be. I hope you stay here for a very long time. I do believe I will. Enjoy myLotting!

Well i have to agree with your points while still semi disagreeing with some. Like about earnings it would be helpful if mylot had a ranking or an average or something that people could view to see how they are going. Or if mylot made on discussion them selves saying that is the only one and any others will be deleted. As for going on leave, well to be honest who cares if you are going on leave, message your friends in private with the messages section thats why its there. As for being rude to members well that is just not acceptable. Keep in mind though if you think someone is being rude to you try not to fight it out in public or even go to the staff. Message the person in private and discuss it. If it continues then feel free to go to the staff. But please at no point bring it out in public no need for it other than to stir more conflicts. As for responding to friends discussions, this is my priotity as i know they spend their time responding to any questions i have so it is only fair to help them back. I feel the more help i give the more help i recieve. What comes around goes around. and finally answering responses which have gone unanswered. When i have addressed all my friends responses i go right to the responses which have no answer. I go through that and find the stuff i feel i can actually contribute to. I rarely go to the top or hot discussions as many people do this and they are probally answer 100 times over so no real need for me to answer again. Anyways thats my opinions, agree or disagree as you desire but i am keeping my ways for now because i feel they are fair and actually help. cheers Plunt (by the way you forgot to address lots of copying and pasting of stuff, although i havent seen to much, and sometimes its actually good, but i have seen it from time to time)

I couldn't say anything else but you deserve the best response at this early point in the discussion. You have expressed yourself point by point and I appreciate that. You responded well for someone who's relatively new here and kudos to that! As to myLot guidelines on earnings, I understand that they are not very transparent about it, so many members (especially the new ones) would inquire about it. The discussions about earnings that I was referring to were those that could create havoc among the members because of exaggeration, for the sole purpose of confusing others and thus cause members to compare. Thanks for mentioning the copypasted material. That's actually one of the benefits of being a member here. Others take advantage of it so much, though (I have to agree), and instead of contributing just clog the site with useless discussions. Hehe. Enjoy myLot!
