I received this just now from my wonderful friend who actually happens to be my hubby's ex mother in law (and I love her to pieces!!). So all of you animal lovers out there, enjoy! If: I didn't have animals . . . . I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety. My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated. All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair. I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable. I would not have strange presents under my Christmas tree -- dog bones, stuffed animals ,toys, treats nor would I have to explain to people why I wrap them. I would have money ....and no guilt to go on a real vacation. I would not be on a first-name basis with 6 veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grandchildren through college. The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it ALONE. My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers. My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere. My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra leash. I would no longer have to Spell the words B-A-L-L-, F-R-I-S-B-E- E, W-A-L-K, or T-R-E-A-T. I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside. I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much. look forward to spring instead of dreading mud season. I'd be able to roll over in bed without moving a pet I would not have to answer the question "Why do you have so animals? " from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get. How empty my life would be.

I have seen many of these animal lover emails but I have never seen this one. And its so true. I had to laugh because we got rid of all our carpet because of the animals and I thought I was the only one. And I am always getting asked why I have so many animals. And i really do dread mud season. I thought about painting the floor with dog footprints so people wouldn't know it was mud.lol. Thank you for sharing this.

I know just what you mean my friend . I had dogs too and sadly I cant anymore as I suddenly have an allergy to them , I still pat them but have to go wash my hands before I can touch my face, when we had our dog my hubby used to think Shep could tell the time because he knew when he was being taken out , then I realised before he went out he used to wind up his watch the comb his hair and Shep got to know the routine smart dog eh!! lol . miss him to pieces and its Ben over 20 years xx he will be up there with Meg xx

Awwwwww how sweet is that!! how true that is. Hershey thinks that this is HIS house and he allows us to be guests in it from time to time. LOL. He's so loving and loyal my hubby and I just can't seem to tell him NO on anything. He's too cute and he's so good to us and good for us. If he and I got divorced it would be a nasty custody battle for Hershey that's for sure !

I like Hershey's attitude. He sounds like my cats. They know they rule the roost, and are just granting me entry so that they can be fed and cuddled. LOL

Lil' Bear - My daughter's cat, one of 3 cats and a dog.
Granted I complain about all the dog/cat hair all over but it doesn't compare to the loving companionship all my animals give me in return for caring and loving them.
