Were you named after your mom, dad, the dog or a medicine...lol. Do you know what it means? My name is Bridgette and my mom named me after a lady on the soap operas. My grandmom tried to get her to name me Geogia Mae...for the love of God!! I am glad that did not happen.

Actually I don't know where my parents got my name!? I'm not named after anyone in my family... I have a very old Danish name... It dosen't mean anything western names rarely do :-)

I'm also named off a character from a soap opera. My husband oddly enough is named after a dog. His dad's best friend had dogs with human names so he got it from that. My son is named after his grandpa (the one who named my husband after a dog lol).

My Grandfather named me after a Hindu Godess. When I was young I didn't like the name as I think it is very common name. But know I am proud of my name, and I love my name a lot as it gives me a identity amongs the lot of people.

My mom loved the perfume Chanel N5, therefore, that is how I got my name. I was named after the perfume, hince, my name is Chanel. My middle name is starlite and I don't know where that came from. I guess my dad initially wanted my middle name to be moonbeam...and considering that my maiden name is beeman, I am so happy they didn't pick the name moonbeam..~Chanel Moonbeam Beeman~ Yeah I am happy they picked starlite for my middle name. Good discussion post..thanks and have a great day. =)

my aunt gave my mother my name. my aunt use to baby-sit this girl named sakina so my mother thought it was a great name and that is where my name came from. my middle name which is danielle, is spelled danyell, because my aunt sent it to my mother the way sound it out and my mother that is the way you spell it. i love it because no one that i know spells danyell like this, thank goodness my aunt gave my mother such a great name for me because my mother was going to name me ernestine, so my brother and i would have matching names! as i've been told, i was named after one of my mom's officemates back then. she really liked that lady because this lady would play the piano in their canteen during lunch time and she plays it beautifully. and my mom really wanted me to learn how to play the piano. i had piano lessons until i was 15 but i really don't have passion for it, so my mom eventually gave up. hahah!
