Could you imagine life without a microwave?

Do you own and use a microwave on a daily basis? What is the weirdest use for a microwave you have ever seen? My mother in law has actually uses the microwave to dry her clothes in an emergency....I know, totally insane if you ask me! What's your take on the king of convenience?

I only really use the microwave at home for heating up some soup or osme beans and I could probably do it in a pot in the same amount of time.
Microwaves though are actually amazing. i was reading the other day that they were invented when a guy was in a lab and walked past a beam with a chocolate bar in his pocket and it melted in seconds.

That's very cool. I dont use one anymore, I threw it out after learning about the negative health affects and that fact that it alters the composition of the foods. It has been linked to cancer and all kinds of things. I was just curious how many people use them and can't live without them! Thanks for the nice response!

I definitely could not imagine life without my microwave. It is part of today's convenience that I don't think any of us could survive without once we have had used one! LOL, just yesterday, on Dr. Phil, I saw them speak of a strange use for a microwave-heating underclothing in the microwave supposedly helps kill the bacteria that causes yeast infections!! Can you believe that? But the doctors on the show said a dryer is just as sufficient.

There are different types of microwaves for different uses, but I only use the basic type for just heating food up and not for cooking from raw food as that type of microwave has to have a heating element inside.
