Cashiers

Well, I have been a cashier at a grocery store for about 2 years... ( 1 and 1/2 at one store, and just started at this new one ) and I tell ya, some of the people are just SO RUDE. Its really upsetting. Something as stupid as a box with a can in the same bag. Some people like their milk bagged others dont, some like their eggs and bread in the same bag, others dont....WELL IM SORRY PEOPLE but im not a mind reader, your eggs arnt going to get squished from BREAD. I have some customers come into the store, and totally make me feel like im nothing..and its not right. Being a cashier and bagger isnt that easy. All the produce codes I have to remember, and how to bag right, and how [people ushally like things bagged, and coupons, etc. Its not easy. So next time you go to the grocery store, give your cashier a break...they will totally appreciate it =] I know I sure as hell would.

Hello friend, as you have told your story i would like to share just one thing! I think you will not mind it! Dear friend i am a student of management and marketing and in these subjects we totally emphasise on customer. We say that customer is the boss and he is the king! We can not make the customer to follow us but we have to follow the customer! Otherwise we will be failed. Just try to understand your customers that what they want. You will have to do what your customer want! Its basic rule of marketing. Best of luck!

I can empathize with you. I work in retail and although I am not a cashier (nor do I ever wish to be because of the stress) I work closely with the cashiers and even closer with customers. In the short time that I've worked in retail, I've encountered a lot of very nice people and a lot of not so nice people. I was raised to be polite to strangers, but to speak up when neccessary. Apparently, others were raised to skip the niceties and go straight for the "give me what I want when I want it or get out of my way" mentality. Give me a break people! Just because my job is meant to help you shop doesn't mean you can treat me like a moron.
