So I've been to Maui and Kuai. I loved both of them but my fave is still Maui. How 'bout you?

My favourite island is a tiny one in Samoa called Namua, in the South Pacific. It has a lovely beach front with thatched accommodation called fales. They are wooden building that are totally open and stand on stilts. At night I could hear the waves gently splashing at the shore and feel a light breeze. Behind this I saw the interior of the island. I climbed a track that took me high up, with views through the many coconut palms to the other surrounding green islands. On the other side I paddled through water and pass rocky areas of the beach. I took my snorkel out to see the friendly fish and colourful coral.

Wow! That sounds like heaven. Nice writing . . . I can picture everything you described. I'm too chicken to snorkel though.

Yes, it is a really beautiful island. I first learned to snorkel in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. I felt scared at first but the beauty of the reef and seeing all the lovely fish took my fear away. Since then I have bought my own snorkel set and done even and seen small sharks in French Polynesia and Belize.
