Do discussions expire?

Does anyone know if there is an expiration date for old discussions? I was wondering about the ones that never get a response, or even ones that don't have a response for months. Has anyone noticed discussions being deleated once they are old?

No. I don't think there is an expiration of the old discussions. You have to dig old discussions to comment on them. It is sad that many good old discussions have been buried and no one seem to dig them.

I tend to dig through my friend's discussions to find good ones. Also if I have one I feel needs another chance, I'll make a comment to get it back up to the surface.

Nope. You may be assured that discussions never expire. Discussions sometimes disappear. However, that's because they have been deleted due to some guideline violation. Certainly no expiry date for "normal" discussions that do not break any rules.

So even a really old one with no responses when we can't even get to them without spending forever going through pages? I wish they'd either give us a 'last' button, or at least let us jump forward more than just a few pages at a time.

Nope. There is no expiration. The only time they get deleted is if they had a glitch and it was an accident...which I have seen happen...or if the discussion violated guidelines in some manner. But I have responded to discussions as old as 6 months on this site! It is nice to bring back old discussions that are good because sometimes they get lost in the shuffle of the myLot discussion traffic. :)

I actually want to know the answer to this. This is just one of the questions that remains a mystery here. Haha. Well, I had two discussions responded to today by one (and the same) member. Those discussions were 3 months old! I really thanked her for responding because they were 0 (zero) response discussions. I read from one discussion here that when someone responds to a very old discussion, that particular discussion will go back to the pool (of posts). I really thanked her because that erased two of my 0-response discussions, and she brought them back again. I also read from somewhere here before that the discussions never get to be erased. Then how's that? Since there's no way of deleting, then they just clog in there. Oh, well..I hope somebody gets to answer this question of yours. Happy myLotting!

That's how I felt. With Thousnads of people posting 24hrs a day/7 days a week, surely there's got to be a limit to the amount of memory to hold it all.
