I am finding that mylot is going very slow. Is this just tonight or all the time since the change in the layout of the forum? It is incrediby slow and nothing else is open or operating to slow the system down. Are you finding it the same, or is it just my computer that is having the problems? I am on dialup internet connection and maybe that is the problem. What do you think?

No, I think it might be a combination of myLot and the changes they have made as well as being on dial-up connection oldboy. At least that is how I am thinking it is because I am also on dial-up connection as you know and it is slow for me. I was visiting friends a short while ago and used their computer and it was still slow but not as bad as when I am at home. These friends have broadband connection, and that is generally faster. So, I think it must be a combination of both, because it is certainly much slower to load a page when I am at home on dial-up. It might have something to do with the adverts that they have here, and I really do find them annoying that they keep on coming up all the time. All I can suggest is that you run spybot and adaware to make sure there is nothing lurking around on your computer to slow it down. Then do a scan of your hard disk, and dump all the rubbish that it brings up from temporary internet files etc. That might speed things up a little bit, although there is no guarantee of that happening of course. Other than that, maybe go to broadband, if you can get a good service at a reasonable price that is.

Maybe your computer is running other tasks? I find I will bog out completely, and then it dawns on me my antivirus is running a system check in the back ground. It could be something like that, or something simply hanging in your computer? In these situations, just restarting the computer can help.

Mylot has always been pretty slow, right from the day when I registered here on mylot several months ago. I am on broadband cable connection and still it takes a while to turn pages so I can't even imagine your situation since you ar eon dial-up. But what you can do to compensate for the slow speed is to open up 5-6 or more mylot windows and respond to different discussions in different windows. This way wyhile one response is being posted, you can start giving another response to another discussion in another window. This is what I do to respond to as many discussions as I can. It may be a confusing at the start but you will catch on as time goes by.

Great idea about opening several windows .. but wonder if it will slow it down even more. Will wait till I have more than a 500 rating and see what happens .. then I will be able to do things on my laptop and do a cut & paste to here when I get back online. thanks for your contribution.

It would be nice to have a connection other than dialup but it is not going to happen anytime soon. We can get satellite connection certainly but it is so expensive and also the download limit is not very high. Sounds like you are no longer on dial-up. I envy you for that.

I think myLot has been slow in general - I'm not sure why when it's mainly textbased and it does not really host a lost of processes or a lot of images. And to think that we're not allowed to put html code in our responses, so processing should be really easy from their side. Thanks for the comment on my discussion!

Yes I have noticed that myLot seems to be getting slower all the time. It is ever slower now than it was when I joined over 2 years ago but my internet connection speed is the same. Maybe it is just that the server is overloaded with the volume of posts that we are making here on myLot. Thanks for your input and it is appreciated.

Yes, there are times that mylot is very slow. Maybe because there are many members who were online that time. But I am not really sure. I don't really think that because you use dial - up it's what makes it slow.

You are rigth and I think it must be due to the number of topics as well as members here who are active on myLot at the same time. I am finding it much slower now than it was even say 6 months ago and that is the only thing I can think of.

Even with the broad band it plays havoc at times.Well there may be several factors for this glitch.I always think that there may be a mad rush to mylot from different people at the same time and the traffic causes the slowness.

Well, personally, I have been having Issues with this site, and I am not on dialup either for the last week or so on and off, so not sure what is going on here. I feel they might be having to work on the site again due to the Growth, etc. Who knows really, but I for one am hoping they get it fixed for Good again soon, as it can be quite annoying.

Sorry you are having problems ... but glad that I am not the only one in this situation. A couple of times I have been posting when the notice has come up to say system upgrade is happening .. and then last night I couldn't log in at all due to the same thing. Maybe mylot is improving the situation .. or I hope they are anyway. Thanks for your input here.

It is interesting to read that you too are having problems mypigbox, but that you are thinking it is your internet makes me think that perhaps that is the reason for mine too. I just do not know.

Sometimes Mylot can behave just like one of us women on our menstrual cycle lol. A bit slow, a bit frazzled and can make our payments go up and down when she is in pissy mode lol. I am sure Mylot is a female hahahaha. One day she was so sow, I just could not load the pages, one morning it took me one hour to mylot one page lol..
