Are there Illusionist in real life? read my story

Three months back i met this guy through my best friend who claims to be have extra ordinary super natural powers. He claims that he can do anything and make everything possible but within & according to the rules of religion. My friend had a problem of seeing "things" specially in her house she didnt had any possesion problem just seeing spirits and creatures but this guy fixed that problem. But still my friend can see those things but only when this guy wants. This guy tried once to show me something but it didnt worked, why? I believe he is some kinda illusionist, but he can only show certain things to my friend not me??? Also this guy is very good about telling history. He knew everything about my friend after meeting her, even where she use to play when she was a child :-S but when he is dealing with me, i find him only making some educated guesses. I m totally confused with his powers. What do you guys think, what is he? liar?
