I think Ravi Shastri has been appointed as a manager and not a coach. Given his shrewdness and strategic mind, I think he has all the ingredients to succeed as a manager. I think appointment of Venkatesh Prasad is a good sign as he would help the breed of fast bowlers to perform at the international level. I think the best choice is that of Robin Singh as the fielding coach. Robin would really inspire the team to increase it's level of fitness which was pathetic at the world cup. Cheers! Ram

hey, first of all i would like to thank you for frequently participating in the discussions that i post! well, its true that ravi shastri has been apppointed as a manager/coach of the indian team. What i think is that a coach should be able to handle the team well and communicate his ideas to the team members nicely. In my point of view Shastri is a good choice, he is smart, articulate, and can speak his mind. appointing another coach for bowling BCCI has tried to help ease the pressure that a single coach faces. I'm not much sure about prasad. only time will tell if he is a good choice or not!

Yes, he is a good choice because to keep control of such a experienced team with Sachin, dravid and Ganguly, you need an experienced man just like Ravi Shastri. But, I might like to see Kapil as the bowling coach because he could help in both batting and bowling and to me, he seems a man who make our team a lot more enthusiastic.

Hey only a Indian coach can take our Indian team from this bad conditions now.I think For bowling coach Kapil Dev would be a good choice. And Ravi shastri, let him try why not sunil gavaskar ?? Sunil is really talented as we all know. But Ravi is also not bad lets see what is the outcome of Upcoming Bangladesh tournament.
