Easter Eggs

we just opened our box of Easter Egg dye kit...low and behold they forgot to put the dye tablets in...ive dyed eggs with food coloring before does anyone know if you add vinegar to the water?

1/4 teaspooon food coloring 3/4 cup boiling water per color 1 tablespoon vinegar per color mix it up and have fun!

thanks, now i cant open the vinegar bottle...maybe were suppose to hide white eggs this year...

Yes, vinegar is still needed. I'd like to try using onion skins, cabbage, and beets sometime to dye eggs.

I just read that if you have any colored tissue paper, like gift paper, that you can cut it in different shapes and put it on damp eggs and the dye will transfer from the paper onto the eggs.

What a rip off!! I personally, if it is possible, take it back to the store and try to exchange it? Well, if that is not an option, I do know the dye kits require vinegar, so I would imagine doing it with a "home kit" would require the vinegar as well.
