Hospitality anyone? Do you enjoy having people over for dinner?

Do you invite people over to your home for dinner or do you prefer to meet at a restaurant? Does hospitality just come natural to you or is it really not your thing? If you do invite others over, do you find yourself stressed out to the max trying to "prepare" the food, house etc? If you don't enjoy having people over to your home, why do you feel this way? Let's share!

I love to have people over. I really don't stress out about it. I love to cook. I don't set the table formally and all, I just set up all the food in the kitchen and everyone can serve themselves. We're really not fancy people lol.

I am the same way. Being fancy is not really too much of an option in my house with as many kids as I have! It's more stress than it's worth to try and overdo it! Simple is better in my opinion. Thanks

We often have people over for dinner and an evening of cards and games.I dont stress I plan all the meal ahhead and try to have most everything ready as they arrive. Some times we have like everyone bring a dish and that helps also . I am a very picky house keeper so I have everything clean and ready. Alot of times we enjoy going out to dinner than coming back to the house for cards.

Me too! I am a big fan of card and game night! Although I dont get to do it near as much as I'd like. When it comes to people coming over, one of my biggest pet peeves is that I am a neat freak, I hate messes, but with 7 kids what can you do? I always find myself running around at the last minute to pick up or vacuum up what I just picked up 30 minutes earlier! That is one area I need to relax about, there is a big difference between a mess and filth right? I have to stop trying to make everything perfect, it just gets messy within 5 minutes of the guests being here anyway!!!! Anyhow, everyone that comes over knows that I have a gazillion kids and I don't think they expect perfection, if they do then they should try running my household for a minute or two :) Thanks very much for the response!
