Im not really sure. I want to watch it to see what Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg have done with the movie but on the other hand Im really disappointed with the characters. If you go to the movie forum you will see 2 factions, one movie rants and the other praising the movie. The rant section has many responses as expected by me. I can honestly say Im not happy with it. The Transformers is part of my childhood. They are trying to ruin it. I have seen the trailers and I can say that its not the transformers I grew up with. Its like they are offering us a meal that is different from what we want. They are telling us that its the same meal just transformed. Are you kidding us? who would want a different one.

In an interview in Yahoo, Michael Bay responded to this issue by answering to the question about why he put "flames" on Optimus Prime' design with "because I wanted flames on Optimus Prime". I know that may sound a bit cocky but I think he was only saying it from a director's point of view...he wanted to make the movie "realistic" and the character designs more "updated" for the new generation.

I agree. I loved transformers even know .I use to run home to watch the show and I always said I hope they make it into a movie. And someone did but I'm not happy with what I've seen from the trailers just look at what they did to bumble bee, he was a yellow vw beetle now he's a Chevy camaro.I'll just go out and buy the dvd of transformers g1.

I think with Michael Bay and Steven Spielburg behind it the Transforers movie will not only match my expectations, but go beyond them. I just found out about this movie and I can't wait for it to come out.

No. As I state in many of the other posts here on mylot, I'm very disappointed by it. After most of the previews focusing on the people, and not the transformers, it just fell flat, to me. Then, the fact that it was almost impossible to tell them apart. They were either "Optimus, or not Optimus." Hello, but can someone tell me when Prowl joined the Descepticons, or when they got a police car on their side? Which Stuntacon/Combaticon was that supposed to be? I did like Bumblebee's sit, which was a nice nod to the original comics. Besides a few jokes, the only thing I really liked was Prime's "One shall stand, one shall fall!"

Yes the trailers look awesome, so i think the movie will be good. It apparently has a very good storyline to, with many twists that will most likely keep people on the edge of their seats. Of course the movie's characters look different to the G1 robots, but thats understandable, because the movie is keeping up with the present world, fashion, habits, technological advance, etc. However, what is disappointing is that judging by the trailers, the movie didn't keep up with the basics of the transformers world. For example Bumblebee is supposed to be a Volkswaggon Beetle. However, in the movie he is a Chevy Camaro. The movie had a deal with GMC, thats why a most of the autobots for example are GM vechicles. They should have done whatever they could to stick to the origional rules, even if it means paying Volkswaggon more money to get their rights. Nonetheless, i cant wait to see the movie, it should be interesting, exciting and a good pass time. So yeah the movie will definitely match my expectations; and is worth seeing by anyone.

I'm still not sure what I think of this movie. Transformers was my favorite cartoon as a kid, and I really don't like some of the things the most recent Transformers series have done to the characters. So I'm a little nervous about the movie. Not that I won't see it, but I just worry that there are a lot of things that will just be majorly different than the Transformers I grew up with.

I hope it can live up to the hype, I am excited but from the previews I am not sure if it can live up to expectations, I hate when they ruin a good movie by building it up too much.

It's really hard to say yet. But based on the comic prequel things will be really interesting.
