How many off you put on a show for your kids or grandchildren by hiding Easter eggs?? I have spent a good part off my day printing and typing clues as to where to find the little odds and bobs i have bought my two children for Easter, i've made personalized letters for each from the Easter bunny, litle Easter tags to stick on their bits, treasure maps, and a list of clues and even bunny paw prints to follow around !! Apart from the fun i have had all day comprising all this the best treat of all is watching the children tomorrow morning hunting around. I do have to add that they only have one easter egg each, the other bits i've got fot them are reading books and colouring pages, and a sweetie party bag. And my kids do know the real meaning of Easter so it's all just not about the Easter bunny or lots of choclate, after they find their bits i plan to do some cooking with them my little boy aged 5 wants to make spiderman cakes, and little girl aged 9 wants to do scooby snacks.. I am a single mum and i've had to work all week through their Easter holidays and had to take the poor souls along with me, so tomorrow i'm really going to make a full day off it and take time out to be with my kids. What will you all be doing ? Happy Easter everyone. Tara xx

Those are really good ideas that you have! We usually hide eggs all around our backyard and they go and find them. We usually color the eggs the day before. So, that's what we'll be doing later today. Usually, it's warm enough to do the hunt outside, but tomorrow, it's supposed to be cold with snow showers, so it looks like we'll be moving the hunt to inside. I also give them each a basket. Inside will mostly be little toys. I'm not a fan of giving too much candy, since they still have candy from Halloween and Valentine's Day, plus they have a little Easter party at school, and get candy there. But I do make sure to give them each a chocolate bunny, and my younger one love Peeps, so I have to make sure she gets those! They also know the true meaning of Easter. Just yesterday, we sat down and talked about it, since it was Good Friday. Enjoy your Easter with your little ones!

Wow sounds like your kids will have an amazing Easter! Way to go! I have a 10 year old daughter-- Its the first year she really didn't believe in the Easter Bunny. Of course I still did the Easter basket and hid it! We colored Easter eggs yesterday! She loves hard boiled eggs. Family is coming up for Easter dinner. Should have a house full and alot of fun! I'm taking her down to the Easter Egg hunt in town in a couple of hours.. I went to the same one as a child- She loves it!

Yes i know how you feel i must admit my daughter has spent most of the week saying that the easter bunny does'nt exists, i do tend to have a go at her as i don't want her to disalusion my 5 year old, but saying that after todays Easter hunt i think the Easter bunny have the lime light again...lol i still believe in Santa, theres a child in us everywhere it's nice when we let it out, hope you and your daughter have a fab time. Happy Easter xx

We were going to do something like that but when they get a bit older it's kind of pointless as it's not as fun it's more of a chore so it's best just to give them to them in the morning when they come down, we are going out tomorrow afternoon anyways and carbooting first thing so we'll all be out all day too so busy day but hopefuly it stays nice for walking round the carboot and see if i can bag me some wrestling bargains.

LOL hun you can never be to old to have fun, it's not the point if the children don't believe in the Easter bunny, the point is that you all get together and share some prescious time. Me i just make the excuse so at least i get bought chocolate, i think as we get older we try to relive our childhood, i remember as a child my granny use to go all out to celebrate Easter, and we use to colour the eggs, unfortunately now a days tradition fads, it's up to us to keep it going so our children will carry this on for there's. xx

Tara~ you sound like such a great mom! I love the idea that you give hints as to where you hide the easter eggs. It sounds like you have put a ton of work into this. Your children will be so happy tomorrow. We do thing a bit different around here. Tonight we are having a 'ham glazing party'. This is actually just an excuse to have our friends and their kids come over. We all bring snacks and drinks and just have a fun time. I have a bunch of plastic eggs that I have filled with candy and hid around the house. This will be an easter egg hunt for the kids tonight. Tomorrow morning my kids will hunt for their baskets. The Easter Bunny comes tonight when they are asleep and fills their baskets and then hides them. The baskets don't have much candy in them. Only a few chocolates, one bunny each and then some clothing. After baskets are found, we will have a yummy breakfast and veg out until we head to my sisters house for a big Easter Dinner. Have a great Easter with your kids:)

lol i go wild on easter lol. first and most importantly we hide over 300 eggs. (my girlfriend thinks thats 2 2 2 much lol but i dont) and my 2 kids go wild for eggs. we hide them with my mom at her house because it takes a few days to hide them all. and some people think we are bad parents doing this but they think we put candy in all the little plastic eggs but lol hell no way they would be the fattest little kids around if we did. my girlfriend puts stuff like money and little erasers and stuff little like that in the eggs. some eggs do have candy in them but most of them got money in them. well if you think im crazy puting money in over 150 easter eggs your probibaly right. but we only used $178 and some odd number of change total this year. to be true thats nothing like last year. last year i went completly crazy. my girlfriend and i put over $300 in the eggs. my kids are both 6 years old. well my little girl is realy my girlfriends daughter but my sons mine. im getting maried soon so her little girl is my little girl. dont you agree? well i kinda feel bad for you i hope you find a good man to help raise your kids. im sure yu do a good job and i hope you have a happy happy easter!

Aww what a beautiful reply melman thank you so much, and i don't think you are crazy i think you sound like a great dad and yes they are both kids, and kids are only kids once and we never know whats around the corner so my moto is make the most of everyday, say what you want to say and do what you want to do, it sounds to me like you have found your soul mate with you girlfriend, big congralulations on your up coming wedding, and don't feel bad for me hun i hope one day i find the right man taking things slowly as my ex husband has certainly left me with scars, i know that there are good people out there, i just plod along and hope one day someone good will come into mine and my kids life. You have a fantastic Easter egg hunt..lol..the kids will still be search up til next week with all them eggs xxx

Probably the best day I always spend every holy week is on Easter Sunday. When we are still kids I and my brothers and friends used to play the easter egg hunt. We love to play this game since our grandmother is the one who personally prepare the game. The most excting part of the game is when you read the riddles and clues to figure where the eggs where hidden. I usually take time to think about the clue so that I can't waste time by just looking for it. How I wish to play that game again just like the child I used to be.

Funny isn't it how things we have done in our past stand out when it comes to certain times of the year, like Easter and Christmas, i think now a days everyone takes these holidays as granted and the kids expect expensive gifts like playstations and game boys, when i was young i use to know the meaning of why and how holidays like Christmas and easter came about and if i got a comic and a bag of candy i would be over the moon from days on end. funny how things change such a shame, i try to bring my kids up to respect everyday things and know that not everything can be taken for granted. have a fab day xx

Wow. It sounds like you will be having a very special day tomorrow. I don't have kids, so I don't have anything special planned for Easter. I hope your day goes as planned. Hugs from, Carol

Yeah last year my mom did kinda the same thing as you. She printed out clues of where to find the plastic eggs and if you found them they had diferent amount of money in them. the ones that were harder to find had more money in them like 5 bucks nothing special but it put some fun into easter morning.
