Do you see a call center job as work you can grow old with?

Most people don't. Most see a call center job as a meantime job. I don't work in the call center industry, so I'm curious why call centers are eating up so many talents in the workforce, most of whom are very open about their blatant dislike of call centers. So, is a call center job a meantime job? Why?

it is a meantime job. people in call centers come and go and some rarely stay more than 3 years. i think it is because of the stress of this type of work. being a shock absorber, plus the work shift is not very friendly at all.

It's definitley a meantime job, i myself am working in a Call Center for almost a year. The only reason that keeps me to work here is its high salary and all you have to do is just to accept calls even if they scold you or say rude words to you. Its just words its up to you if you are going to take it seriously, coz what i do to overcome such calls is to think that those words are not for me but for the product or the company that i represent. As soon as i saved enough money to start up a business its call center good bye for me. Who knows i might set up my own call center.

i am working in call center now and i don't think that I can see myself working here for a long time. A good thing from a call center is the high salary than most of the jobs here in the Phils. But you can't belive the stress that you'll encounter while working in a call center.

For me I dont see my self working in a call center as an agent 2-3 years from now. I would like to pursue a career in a call center and eventually be a Supervisor or a Manager. Some say it`s a meantime job or as a part time. It all depends on your goals. You should ask yourself, "Where do I see my self 2-5 years from now" One of the main reasons why people work in a call center is because of the High Salary and the benefits that they give to thier employees. The downside is that, you dont have a normal life because you usually work at night.

I see myself having my own call center... working for someone is not an answer to our problems. The only one who's really getting money from it is the one who owns the company. A call center agent usually gets PHP 15,000 monthly but if your going to check how much the client is paying for it, it is double the price your getting so with that - everything goes to the employer. Lets say they have 500,000 call center agent: 500,000 call center agent x PHP 15,000 = PHP 7,500,000,000 MONTHLY OR IF YOU THINK THAT'S AN EXAGGERATION Lets pretend that they will only be getting PHP 10,000 from each call center agent 500,000 Agent x 10,000 = PHP 5,000,000,000 MONTHLY No wonder why they can afford to have their own building here in Makati. So with all these I DON'T SEE THE CALL CENTER AS A WORK... I SEE IT AS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BE RICH AND GROW OLD WITH:)
