How Long Till Your Money Appears in the Bank

May I suggest you check with the bank. I would not think that your money will be available for withdrawal even 30 minutes later after you seen it in the bank ledger 15 minutes ago. From what I know, this could be a update that there is such an entry and the balance is often a holding or floating balance only. You may not be able to withdraw the money until the cheque is cleared. How long does it takes to clear the cheque will depends on the clearing proceedings by the bank. This, is again, bank dependent. Local cheques are often cleared earlier than foreign cheques. The money will definitely appear in your bank account after the cheque is cleared :P

If you have direct deposit, it's all electronic so it usually hits the account at midnight on the day you get paid. If you are depositing a paper check it can take up to five days if it is from another bank. If you want quick access you can go to a check cashing store and pay / have deducated a 1% - 3% fee and get your cash on the spot. If you are banking at a different bank than where the check is from, you may want to open a side account at that bank so you can have quicker access to you money.

It depends on the time that the deposit is made. If it is made after a certain time at most banks it will not deposit until the next business day. I have never had a bank deposit a check in 15 minutes, even one from the same bank. My bank usually takes one day. I just cash the check and turn around and deposit the cash, which will be available right away. This is the best way to make sure your money will be available to you when you need it.
