as of now, most people prefer toothpicks because it's cheaper than the dental floss. i just wonder which of the two can effectively reduce plaque and helps prevent gingivitis.how about you, what do you usually use?

I would still go for dental floss as they are milder to use and safer. I know they are a bit expensive but each pack has about 50-60 yards--enough to last for 4-6 months because I'm the only one using it. Floss are more effective in reducing the and preventing of tartars because with floss you can clean in between the teeth especially the molars where toothpicks can't reach. Toothpicks can only clean the front teeth and I use them when I go to restaurants. But as soon as I get home I immediately reach out for the floss and clean my molars.

I think using the dental floss is a lot better because it can dig in deeper places on the gap between teeth. Some toothpicks cant do this. However, there is allegedly harm in using dental floss because it moves the gums away from the teeth and some dentists say that's not very good for the teeth... Nevertheless, I still use dental floss..

I would always prefer dental floss and I just use it once a day after I brush my teeth in the evening. I think dental floss is more effective because it could reach those areas between teeth that even toothpicks cant even reach.
