Maybe you've been in an argument where names, insults and accusations were thrown at you, and then one hits you for six. Maybe you were out walking and someone decided to turn nasty on you or call out evil, vindictive names Maybe it was a friend, or a partner or even work colleague Have you ever been insulted and what is the most hurtful thing someone has ever done to you and how did you deal with it, did you retaliate, cry or did you run away to lick your wounds?

Well my first marriage was a complete disaster - he drank too much, and was often out of work due to his drinking, and I realised I had made a huge mistake within a few months! During our short time together, he said many insuting, cruel, and hurtful things to me, which probably would have destroyed a weaker person, but I never let it get to me because I very soon despised him so much, and you can't be hurt by someone you despise, can you? In my opinion, you can only be hurt by someone whose opinion you respect, and I most certainly did not respect him. I never really think about him or our time together now - it is over 25 years ago, and I don't see the point of dredging up old wounds and old hurts - life is too short, and one must look forward and not back - at least in my opinion.

His loss, you deserved someone so much better, and what you said is true you can't get hurt by someone you despise. Thanks for sharing my friend x

My Ex Husband has said a lot of Hurtful things in the 21 years we where married but the worse he could have ever said to me just before I decided to call it a Day and this actually helped me make up my mind is What makes you so special that anyone wants to come on to you you are nothing special His Friend was coming onto me and I told him to have a word with his Friend as I am scared of that sort of thing due to something that happened to me as a Child amnd a Teenager, this was his attitude to me. Well I always guessed I was nothing special and certainly found out that night 6 years ago that I wasn't.
