do ghosts really appear when it's 12 midnight?

No, it is not so. Ghosts do not appear simply because it is midnight. That holds true to the movies only. I can still remember though, that my grandmother told me to make sure I get home before 8 o'clock in the evening. She said that 8 pm until 4 am is the time for the spirits to wander around. The living beings, us humans, must be home within these hours to be relatively safe from their anger and vengeance. Since we cannot see them, there is danger that we hurt them in some ways, and this makes them angry. You will surmise then, that these spirits are inconsiderate. Instead of them staying away from our way, they want us to be the ones to evade them. This is impossible because, we don't see them - it is they who see us.

Nothing really and it is just part of those things that becomes popular. Ghosts or dark spirits usually become stronger when darkness enveloopes the earth and they weakens or starts to depart by 2a.m...I also don't know if there is any truth to it but experience tells me that could be true.

Yes, I heard a lot of ghost stories. I don't believe those stories and I'm not afraid of ghost.

No, that is not so, I don't believe that. Ghosts appear when they appear, they don't have a time that they adhere to. They say midnight is the witching hour but I really don't believe that.

Actually, spirits don't appear at twelve midnight so I'm not sure where you heard or read that. Spirits appear between the hours of two and four A.M. and most people are sleeping at that time so they may miss them. Also, spririts can really appear at any time of the day if a place is haunted.

12 midnight doesn't make ghosts appear that is a movie thing, it is used for fiction. Partly this is due to the persecution of midwives, women who knew how to heal with herbs, and helped in delivering babies, the church started the whole witch hunt craze thing, back then people feared the dark. The dark was a very dangerous thing, since few travelled then, there was no lights to see by etc. Those who had to hide from persecution may have used night to hide in. But also the midnight hour was first called the witching hour, and it was presumed that is when witches communed with the devil, from there it lead to the movie myth of ghosts appearing at midnight. For those who believe in ghosts, spirits, souls, that can appear, or communicate will tell you that they can do so at any hour of the day. Another reason for the whole midnight thing, is that for the most part for generations we lived in a world where most people were sleeping after dark, it was quieter, for those who will "tune" in psychically they will tell you that this means that because it is quieter, because the world is less active and busy they can tune in psychically better at night. Another reason for meetings of a spiritual nature to be held at night. Leading the the fears and myths about the witching hour, and ghosts. There are those who say it is still quieter at night but not as quiet as it used to be with more than 20 percent of the population working night shifts.

you can see them absolutely any time. I find that on paranormal investigations, the spirits are most active between about 9pm and about 3am, depending on the time of year, but as I said, you can see them anytime whatsoever.

Hmnnn..12 o clock? What do you mean by ghost? Is it spirits? hehehe..don't want to experience them again. They do not appear by 12 midnight, but 3am huhuhu! Really scary. At work, during overnight stay in the office for some rush job, i experienced that thing. I haven't seen them by my eyes, but i feel them. The object move (e.g chair), the little door sway so hard w/o air in my place because the windows were closed. And i am alone that time. I almost want to open the door and jump. But i chose to pray..Thanks God after 30 minutes, it suddenly stop. According to my colleagues they also experienced such thing, those spirits are there during 3am, that's why they do not stay there overnight at all.

i don't know coz i haven't seen any ghost but just in case there will be i will never believe that it's the ghost of a person coz ghosts are created by satan to deceit people... all these things are created by satan so that we will believe that he is powerful which is not GOD has the supreme power satan will always be defeated by our Lord Jesus Christ..

Hahaha great topic there, + for you! Well, a lot of this "legend" is about telling children to stay home (=safe) around midnight, like the first poster's gradma used to say. It must have saved a lot of work by imposing an hour to be home instead of explaining it to children. (I'm a big fighter of "rules by fear", I'm into the "rules by knowledge" side) That's also called "the witching hour". It's funny tho, cause you can always tell some one a horror story and say it was midnight. =P And I really think that ghosts show up during the whole day. =P hahaha

I believe that ghosts do not appear only during midnight but anytime during the day. If others don't believe in ghosts, they have to believe in spirits living on the 3rd dimension. They can see us, but we can't see them. Sometimes, if the force of their energy is too strong, we can feel their presence. I've watched one documentary film that these spirits have strong energy during the mid day and at dawn.

Nah, its not 12 mignight at all. The 8 pm to 4 am holds true to how spirits are believed to be wandering in provinces here in our country. Then there are demonic spirits which really stir up at the bewitching hour or 3 in the morning since that's the exact opposite of the time when Christ was crucified at the cross.. That sounded pretty cool when I first heard it. Just don't know if its that true. Haven't been much at our provinces to cheack what really changes at the bewitching hour there.

mid night may be taken as a time by which night takes the leap to the most fearing moment of the day.Midnight is dark.midnight is term which evryone fear the most.And ghosts are the alais for fear.so we are horrified and we say it is due to mid night.Ghosts know this and they incarnate by midnight..hahahha...

you know i was trying this stuff way back when i was a kid. i wait 'till it's 12AM, stand infront of the mirror while the lights are all closed. those ghost just aren't showing up! then i forgot our clock's on DST. dumb idea. seriously, it's just one of those old folk beliefs we have to outgrow since we're already in the digital age. i've yet to see a ghost, a white lady ( i mean, why white? aren't there any pink ladies appearing too?), a werewolf, etc. oh, my colleague here says that ghosts do not appear at 12AM because they're on a curfew. shut up! :D

Hi Ronreyes, i really dont support this timing because maximum people and even me myself have faced the presence of ghosts at about 3:30AM. i know it might sound wierd but thats the time when the spirits or ghosts are at their most active state. I have encoutered ghosts and also felt the presence of theese creepy spirits around and usually its always at 3:30AM. Might be a couple of minutes earlier or later.
