Today my son's father called to check in with us and to talk to our son. He tries to call every two weeks if not sooner, to let our son know he is still alive.
He is stationed over in Ramdi, Iraq and the other day a suidiced bomber drove into a police check point. He was there. Thankfully he was only injuried, from inhaling chlorine fumes.
He says that his lungs have been burning since, and a solider in his unit, was killed. I knew it when I heard the story on the news, that he was there. I am glad he is not hurt. I don't want to have to go through that again.
I have a child, her father was killed in 2000, it is rough for her at times, because he father is gone. I worry so much for my son. I don't want him to have to go through it also.
I wish the government would just bring out soliders home. My son needs his father. I believe that the biggest sacifice in this war is our children, they pay the highest price, when their parent is overseas.
To all of the soliders out there, come home safely, your families need you.

This war has gone on long enough--BEYOND long enough! President Bush and the others who made the decision to go in there in the first place are outrunning their headlights now, and it seems as if they can't shut it off.
Russell's very plain-spoken about his feelings re: how the country is being run. He says that he's going to be celebrating in January, because Bush will no longer be in The White House.
My views of President Bush are more positive ones--but, when it comes to this war, it IS obvious that he's gotten in there bigtime and doesn't know how to get out and just keeps on sending troops over.
He reminds me of President Johnson interrupting our favorite afternoon programs to come to us with a heavy heart and announce that he was going to have to send more troops over to Vietnam.
On top of bringing bad news, he had this nasty habit of breaking in when Paul Revere & The Raiders were up on Where The Action Is or something important was happening on General Hospital.
I remember how I felt when I learned that my cousin, Jimmy, had been drafted--and how relieved I was to find out how he had joined The National Guard and wouldn't be going to Vietnam.
I also remember how your mom was hoping and praying that your Uncle Bill's time in the service would be up before Uncle Sam had the chance to ship him off to Vietnam--and what a day it was when she came to school all excited and telling people that Bill was coming home!!!
Sadly, I also remember how our school secretary looked when she heard that her son had been killed over there. Jamalee had aged overnight.
We really DO need to get out of there before the history of Vietnam ends up repeating itself...

It is very sad, that our brothers and sisters are dying over their for a war, that was planned before 9/11 even happened.
The thing that makes me mad more than anything about this, are the lies that Bush has told the American people. I remember what happened right after Bush took office. Anyone that was stationed at Fort Irwin in CA. at that time can remember it.
AJ, Fort Irwin trains 2,000 soliders a month in desert warfare. Two days after Bush took office, our post went from training 2,000 soliders a month to having 20,000 soliders a month.
The general on the base, told me one day as I was talking to him at the PX, about the food at the grocrey store being all gone, and having to travel alomst an hour away to get food. He told me that we were invading Iraq later in the year.
He also said, "I think Bush, wants to finish the job his father didn't." Think about it. Bush told the American people the Iraq was involved in 9/11 and had WMD. It has come out now that it was all a lie.
I have been trying to tell people that since it became public that we were going to invade Iraq. I even told people before 9/11 that we were going back to war with Iraq. Though most people didn't believe me, until 9/11 happened.

I think that something else entirely is going on with President Bush. No doubt, he would like to finish off what his dad started, but, imo, it goes deeper than that.
It isn't just all about Iraq and Saddam.
Notice that President Bush was talking about invading Iran next--and ALL countries where terrorism might be getting planned.
Translated: the Middle East
Otherwords, the President is trying to get Armageddon going so that Jesus will come and make like Calgon to take him and all the rest of the "true" Christians away!
People do some pretty meanspirited and ignorant things in the name of Jesus--things of which Jesus would NOT approve!
