Mylot Suggestions

Some of the things that I think would make mylot run like a well oiled engine would be: 1-Allow pasting. Since Mylot does not offer any sort of spell check, they should at least allow pasting. You can spellcheck your work in your word processor or online and paste it to mylot. Or you could paste ideas or posts that come to mind late evening or long after you have signed off, which you plan to add to Mylot the next day or at a later date. Because most people, I would imagine, are not very likely to re-type what has already been typed....and not for a few cents. Finally, the user can paste website addresses without the worry of having mis-spelling a site or having someone click a link that does not work. Thus by allowing pasting, it make things more efficient overall. 2-Referrals You should be able to see who signs up under you. By allowing users to see their sign ups, the first party can support the second party. In other words, you can support them by answering their posts. I feel this will keep them around a lot longer if they are getting responses to their posts, instead of abandoning the site. Basically, the more they posts the more you make. You will make money from answering their posts and from them posting more. 3-Better and more specific categories and sub categories. Not everything belongs on the front page because it has 14/20/40 responses. Currently, anything involving someone's kid, cheating spouse, un-picked up check, annoying neighbors, addictive disorder, etc. goes to the front page if enough people reply to it. So I think better categories and sub categories are what is needed, desperately needed. 4-Advice If someone needs advice regardless of what it is for, there should be a section for just that. Mylot can even sub-categorize the section as long as it is for advice only. The first response to reach 20 +'s will receive 5 cents. Does any of this sound good to anyone? Who can add to this list?

These are very good suggestions for mylot. What I would like to add: be able to delete or correct our posts/answer/comment. One day I made a mistake by commenting on somebody's answer and I said: it's not what I am talking about in my discussion. I thought it was my discussion. After I hit submit I realized that I commented the wrong discussion and that is not even mine. I couldn't find the discussion where I commented to explain myself and I'm sure people would think: what is she talking about? She is the one totally out of topic lol But even without this feature, still mylot is the best forum of this kind that I have joined. It's more organized and they let us do more things. Other forums are more strict and you can not talk about whatever you want.

That happened to me once before too. I know how you feel. I do think users should be able to edit their comments. Missak, another mylot member feels users should be able to redo best response, I think that would be nice too. Thanks for responding.

Yes I agree with that too... Here is another suggestion that I thought about: the rating system is bad because anybody can rate you negative with no effort at all. I was reading a discussion today and the person was saying that this morning her star dropped from 9 to 5. I think there is a big chance that somebody rated a lot of her discussions negative. I think it would be better to make it harder for people to rate negative. For example, before rating negative, you will need to fill up a form and explain why you rate the discussion negative. This might stop some people from rating negative for fun. Take care inallduetime.
