Language Learing is a very interesting thing. I always think that learing a language dosen't need much money. A begger sits on the roadsite, leisurely picks up a piece of newspaper to read, attentively and joyfully. Language learning is a task that is not very limited in space, time and money. We need only interest. But at the same time, language learning is a very hard thing. Language learning is a process, like a road leading to the horrizon. One walking the road will face either the sunshining,or the beating rains and the angry winds. Sometimes it is clear, and sometimes the moon is obscured by the clouds. Sometimes the sky is blue, and sometimes the air polluted...

I agree. I love studying languages. Right now I'm working on Cantonese and I'm amazed at how challenging it is. More than just grammar and vocabulary, you've got to master the intonation of each syllable. Spanish was simple by contrast. I also like the way you can learn about the cultures behind the development of languages by studying them.

You're learning Cantonese??? Nice!! It's kind of hard but am sure you will master it. Yes, the intonation is the most challenging part because we have 9 intonations! I am sure you will do good with interest!

You can make it more interesting. I tried this new site and learned Japanese in about a week. http://myhappyplanet.com/register.php?refid=7ylkq58y

well, that begger should be well-educated lol,coz if he didnt even know words, how can he read? i remind a magzine called english language learning,i read it every month in the library, indeed,i didnt need any money to learn a language,i have interest in it.but,if i have no basis or i even dont know abc,the situation might be different,i dont know if i will still have interest in those 26 alphabets,it seems easy to learn a language, but actually it's not that easy,we have to know different culture, what people think in that language and how they use idioms... many things need to care about.

I LOVE language learning very much and like you said it's so much easier to do it with interest. And it's interesting too because different languages come with different cultures and we do learn a lot on other people's cultures by learning their languages! I am lucky that I do speak a few languages (no experts, just conversational stuff) and I do find it fascinating. I plan on learning more different ones in the future and open up my tiny little world!
