Know of any stories like the woman in the Elvis movie who became a real nun?

Dolores Hart was her name. She was in a movie that starred Elvis, but left Hollywood to become a nun. Funny thing is that she still has her SAG card, so she still votes in those awards! Have you heard of any story like that? Someone achieved great fame only to leave it behind and do something else?

Yes, Jenny Lind the 'Swedish Nightingale' as she was called by the press because of her great singing voice. Quit singing to spend more time with her family and never regretted it.

I am not sure about a movie. I know that I read a book about her. It was a kids book so it was not a long book. I remember reading it in 5th or 6th grade.

That has to be the coolest thing. I had no idea she had a connection to Hans Christian Anderson. And how sad that he was in love with her, wrote 3 tales about her, but she only wanted friendship. Did they make a movie about her?

I hope some more people have additional stories. Dolores Hart had a supporting role in the 1957 Elvis movie, Loving You. She was also in his 1958 film King Creole. She played 'Nellie' in King Creole and 'Susan' in Loving You. I got the exact information about her films with Elvis on www.wikipedia.com. I've also seen her do interviews with Entertainment Tonight, so I bet there are some archives of her speaking to them on the internet.

Isn't that an urban legend? If not, it should be.

Urban legends are not true. This really happened and you can see the films she was in and see her at her convent talking about it. Although, she seems to like to talk about it when she is NOT at her convent.
