Do you come from a large or small family?

I find it so odd that there is such a huge diversion of family sizes still in the US and around the world. I come from a very small family, just me and a sister and of course my parents. I've had friends that come from HUGE families of 10+ kids though!

I am from a small family - I am the only child. My husband is the oldest of 5 children. There is a 17 year gap between him and his youngest sister. My husband and I kinda went for the "middle of the road" and have 2 children, 2 1/2 years apart.

I come from a family of 4 ... two kids and two parents. My husband came from a family of six, four kids and two parents. We would love to have six kids. We have a few friends with 10 kids and we have many friends who haven't put a limit to the number of kids that they want to have.

I don't really know. Mine is different. I have a medium size family. It's not huge or small. I don't really have any friends that come from large families. Just medium size ones and small ones.

We had a neighbor family that had about 14 kids. They were the nicest family and while the kids may have been wild elsewhere, we never once had an issue with them in the neighborhood. It was a great family. I always wanted a big family. I think every kid with a small family says that. LOL And every kid with a big family yearns to be an only child!

i come from a prettier big family. me and my three siblings were adopted into a family that already had six children so that made ten of us. A couple of my siblings had already left home but it was still a pretty big family.

I am the oldest of seven children. That was considered to be a large family back in my mother's day. I had four children and that is considered large these days. People who have more than four are considered crazy by most. But, to each their own. If you can financially support a larger family and provide them with enough love to raise them happily, go for it.

My immediate family is my mom, dad, sister and myself. We grew up across the street from my father's brother who had seven kids. Most of them were much older than me. At holidays we always got together and there were several tables to hold us all. After they got old enough, my cousins started to marry and have their own kids. Now there are great grandchildren of my uncle, although my aunt and uncle have passed away. I still keep in touch with my cousins. It's like having 4 extra sisters and three extra brothers.

I come from a family of nine including my parents. Back in those days, a family of nine was considered small as quite a lot of the families in my area had between twelve and sixteen children. There was one family in particular who had sixteen chldren and all of the children were called after saints. We used to wonder if they had any more children would they run out of saints names to call their children...lol.

This is an interesting question for me. I have 2 older brothers and my parents. But I grew up in a communal house with at least four other families, once we had six families living in the house. All of these kids that I grew up with, I consider to be my siblings. Thier parents, I view as aunts and uncles. So I would say that I come from a smallish family, but my family was huge.

I come from a rather small family. I'm an only child, and since my father was a deadbeat and never around, it was just my mom and I. I definitely prefer being an only child, I don't have to worry about dealing with siblings.

I come from a very small family. I am an only child and my mon was a single parent from the time I was 9 or so. It was just me and her but most of the time it was just me because she went out all the time. I would suppose this may be why I am a bit odd, being alone alot as a kid will do that to you. I always envied my friends who had large families because in those types of families you are never alone. It is funny because they always said how lucky I was not to have brothers and sisters annoying me. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

I am too from a small faimly. I am the youngest at home and have 2 elder brothers. Only, My Parents, brothers & me live at our home. I am surprise to hear about 10 babies of usa nation. Well, i think that Parents must have only that number of baby to whom they can give proper attention and Love equaliy at a time but its too an important factor that people, who have good number of sisters & brother do n't have to go here & there for company. They simply play & enjoy at home.

I come from an Irish Catholic family, so it's pretty big. But it's definitely shrinking. My grandparents had 10 or 12 kids each. My parents' generation had somewhere between 3 and 5. And my generation is having 1 or 2.

I come from a small family, there was just my brother and I. He is still single, what you call a confirmed bachelor extremely shy, recluse type. I wish I had had younger brothers and sisters, but my parents were not that young when they married. I find that with a small family, you do not get that much experience with children of various ages as there is just the friends of your own age. And it seemed that if someone wanted babysitters, they preferred girls who had already experienced looking after their younger brothers and sister. When I got married, I wanted six, but that did not happen, so we adopted two.

the family norm is usually 2 kids which is what i came from also. pretty much everyone on both sides of our families have 2 kids. except his grandfather who had 4, remarried and gained 3 in the marriage and then had 1 with his new wife. we ourselves are expecting our 3rd in july and then we are done :) its pretty rare to find anyone that comes from a family that large now that was born before the 1950s. i don't think it would be a bad thing, but these days who can afford to raise that many?

Me and brother was the only person in my family. One of my cousin's house there were 7 children and there are not in good connection with themselves like me and my brother. So I think that small family is good best 2 or 3 children.
