Role of UN in peacekeeping

I dont think UN is playing anyrole , for example UN sent troops to iraq for a war, how can they maintain or play role in making peace... To me there is no UN, it is USA controlling the UN..

I think the United Nations is a lot of talk and no action. In a military sense the United Nations has very little to no power. Often times countries ignore the opinion of the United Nations and find ways to work around the demands of the UN. The UN is an extremely good organization that just needs more of a kick to it.
