The doctor really should help the family formulate an eating plan for them all, its possible that other people in the family also overeat. Are any of them more than a couple of pounds overweight? Its sadly often the case that [parents pass on bad eating habits to their children, and if they want to help the kids they absolutely have to reat everyone in the family the same and break the cycle of food abuse.

I think the docto should have sent his mother to a nutritionist to help her make his meal plan. I know of a websit that will show you healthy ways to feed your family with an e-newsletter written by a dietician. http://www.mealmakeovermoms.com/

His mother needs to cut out all fried foods, focus on fresh fruit & vegetables. Meats are good but things like lean meats are the best. Breakfast is essential so make sure he has 3 meals a day but without the junk - you can always try adding fruit to his cereal rather than sugar. Lunch i guess a pasta dish would be ok as long as he can exercise in the afternoon. I hate seeing little toddlers/kids that overweight, the poor little things haven't been taken care of well enough - well, i see childhood obesity as parents not paying enough attention to their kids & what they eat. Good luck & i hope this little guy can lose some weight coz you'd hate to see him with heart problems or diabetes or anything like that.
