30 pound is lots of weight. But you should try this thing, Give up any foods with high fat percentage. Prefer vegetables and fruits. Give up cold drinks. Drink lots of water. And do aerobic exercises. And last but not the least never give up hope.

for aerobic exerciese do an exercise like running, skipping or cycling for at least 20 minutes. If you do them for less than 15 minutes they would not be much useful for reducing fat.
