Should our laws be based on common sense or Religion?

Most of our laws are common sense. Don't kill,..steal..etc. What about laws that make no sense except for religious reasons or to make money for governments?

I don't think you can seperate the two, at least not as a society. Look at your own examples... Laws against killing are made from a religious, temporal and cultural bias. Some cultures (and subcultures) don't permit any killing of humans whatsoever. Then there are those (like most today) that abhor killing, but allow for a lot of exceptions (accidents, self defense, war...etc). Some cultures and subcultures don't consider if murder if the person you killed isn't "one of us" (gangs, supremacy groups, families). Much of any society is based around the predominant religion(s). Even in the US where we have no "official religion" if you move around the country you see that, at a local level, the predominant religion has a strong influence on people's attitudes; even those who aren't part of that religion, but were raised in the area.

I will go for Religion Because after studying many religions I came to the conclusion that Islam provides laws to govern a human being's life with logic in each one of them. Some are scientific, some are helpful for the society, some are helpful for ones health etc... So as long as the laws are Islamic, I 'll go for them since I believe that human beings are prone to make error, but Allah (swt) cannot.
