Do you just tell people what they want to hear or what they need to hear?

Are you they type that tells people the truth about them selves regardless to how bad it is going to make them feel?
Or do you sugar-coat situations to preserve their feelings so that they will continue to like you. Do you agree with everything someone says to remain their friend?

As I've matured, I've learned to be more honest, but I do it with grace. I may disagree with what friends tell me, but true friendship is rooted in honesty and I'd rather hear the truth and remain friends even though we may disagree than have a friend lie to me just to spare my feelings.

Most of the time I tell people what they need to hear. If 'sugar-coat' it, then my advice probably isn't going to help them much. I feel that telling people what I truly think shows that I respect them, and most people I know really appreciate me being completely honest with them.

I'm a person who can read the changes on someone's face. I think that is very important. Not everyone likes to hear the truth about themselves. Well, I have the habit to let the other person find out about their own fault, little by little. But, if the finding out takes a long time, I'll say 'bye' and walk away!

i am all about being honest. i am not at all a suger coater. i think rather they agree with what you say they will always respect you for your honesty. real friends, true friends will want the truth. they would want you to tell them the truth all the time. i know that is the kind of relationship i have with my friends. i would not want people around me who live in fear of "hurting" my feelings. no one can hurt me unless i give them the power to do so. and i don't give that power to anyone ever!!!
