We are living in the information age, so different from the time I was growing up. Television had just come out and I watched it in black and white.
Today, what would you find harder to give up, your television set or your computer?
I would have to say I would be totally lost without my computer.

this is an easy one for me, i would have to say computer since I hardly watch television any. any information you receive through TV, you can most likely get it quicker through the internet, and plus it's where I do most of my work. television is for entertainment and my computer is practically my second income. so choosing entertainment over money is a no-brainer.
though since I am a video game addict, losing the TV means no more video games. that would be hard for me to part with, but overall, i'd rather keep the device that can keep me informed, entertainment, generate cash flow, and even play games on. best of all worlds, computer for the win.

Well since I am a internet addict I would have to say my computer. I never watch tv anymore, I never really watched it much before. I will watch my favorite shows when they come out on DVD so I dont' have to watch the commercials :)

I wouldn't even have a TV if I lived alone or at least nothing biggar than a 13 inch. All I watch is the news. My computer on the other hand. If anything happened to my computer I'd have a full fledge melt down LOL
For me the putter is a keeper !!!

OMG ..I don't know.. I would be lost without either of them! I watch soo much TV, its not even funny, since I work at home and I'm home most of the time, but I think I could survive without a TV as long as I had my computer. I work on the computer, I keep track of my accounts, talk to my friends, do most of the things I enjoy entertaining myself with online, and if I had to I could watch TV online. They have software you can buy to watch TV on your computer now, so I guess It would be way harder to give up the computer.

You've posed a tough question winterose, but I have to agree with everyone who's responded so far, and say my computer. I've come to count on it for so many things. My e-mail has become one of my most used means of communication, and I also do business, grocery shopping, catch-up on the news, and play games too (especially with the little girl I babysit). It's become quite a hardship for us when we've had to go without it for a significant length of time. I still enjoy t.v. too, and there are certain shows I look forward to, but my computer really helps me to function in my daily life.

I find it harder to give up my television set. I enjoy watching tv. As revealed in one of my discussions, I am sort of a tv addict. I used to stayed glued to the tv every night for few hours.
As for computer, it is associated with working and I used the computer in the course of my work, and also mylot. To me, mylot is considered sort of a part-time work. LOL.

Now you can catch some of the better shows on the computer, so I would have to say I would be lost without my computer. my computer is my source of information also. I don't get the paper, so I use it for my news, email, fun and games ect.

Slowly i have turned to be an addict, of being online for the maximum available time.
The advantage of Computer is that you could read, share, and learn, what do you want, according to your taste at the suitable time, whereas in TV programs you have to watch what they telecast..and nothing of your choice. Though some programs are informative, the learning curve in television is some what flatter.

That's easy - my computer. I can watch TV on it anyhow. There is so much more to do on a computer than a TV. I don't watch TV nearly as much as I am on the computer.
The Internet is a resource that you have control over. Pick up the newspaper or turn on the TV and you're given the news someone else thinks is important; with the Internet you find and read the news that you want.

Either of them would be difficult to give up, but I think at the moment, I would have to say the computer would be harder to give up now. I belive that computers have become a big part of people's lives, and for me is almost my lifeline to various contacts, friends and people I know. It's also a place where I can check on things, talk to others, so various business type things such as the typewriter used to do etc. print off things we might need.....the uses are endless. I believe if you have the right things on your computer you can also watch movies that you want to see.
