online poker

has anyone got any theories about online poker, i have heard mentioned in several places, from several people that they think it is fixed, i myself do also have doubts, id like to know of anyone elses stories or ideas

I'm more inclined to play in real poker rooms/casinos, but I do spend quite a bit of time on the internet playing poker. I think it's a good game online, if only for education. I play free tournaments and play those winnings at real money tables, and use that money to study people's betting patterns and tendencies with betting. You can't get physical tells from them there. That being said, I have found that some cardrooms are very suspiciously run. For instance, a place like UltimateBet, I have read that they stack big hands against each other. I think I have witnessed that there more than any other place. I've seen a straight flush beat four of a kind there more that I would see it in a casino, a totally random, in-live draw. I believe they have software that plays these bigger hands to force action and "up" their rakes from these games.

Hi, thanks for a reply, you said you play in free tourneys then use this money on real money tables, iv never found a site that i can do this on, could you recommend one for me? Many thanks

Bodog is my favorite... be careful, because the playing field in these freerolls are usually bottom-heavy (players who don't know how to play and just go all-in every chance they get). You get past them, and you've got a great chance to finish in the money. Good luck!

Like you I have my doubts and things like that on the net but I do know people that are totally addicited to it. Im not sure if it would be fixed but I imagine there would be something up with a game online like that.

i play frequently and there just appears to be a pattern in the winning/losing side to it, might just be me, however there is something not right. I am not saying it happens on all sites, if any at all, but i just wondered if anyone else has stories?
