Some people say that video games don’t translate well into movie. German born director Uwe Boll says he is the best at bringing them to the big screen and the majority of critics say Uwe Boll is the worst thing to ever happen to the movie industry. Now Uwe Boll, director of such flicks as BLOODRAYNE, HOUSE OF THE DEAD, and ALONE IN THE DARK, is stirring controversy and poking fun it seems at the bombings of 9/11. In what is being sold as a movie version of the 1997 video game POSTAL, Boll opens his new shock comedy replaying the airplanes crashing into the World Trade Center. The scene is used for laughs and clips of it can be found on the internet; playing on such sites as YouTube and BollBashers.com. Topping off the sheer shock value of doing such a thing is the fact that the film has a $20 million budget with state of the art special effects. Boll in making statements regarding the film assures that its focus is not to alienate, support, or ridicule any particular group of people or beliefs. It seems that in the world created within his film all extremes are taken to the edge and all should laugh or be offended equally. On board for the movie are actors David Foley, who many may remember from several television comedies, firstly Kids in the Hall, and Zack Ward. Mr. Ward takes on the main role of the “Postal Dude”. The trailer as aired on the internet shows loads of gun blazing action and silly acting. Whether or not the jokes will be a success is yet to be seen, however given Uwe’s track record there will probably be a huge uprising of negative feedback. In fact, mentioned earlier, for those who truly despise the works of Uwe Boll there is a website with a dedicated section of quotes bashing the man; BollBashers.com.. Uwe seems to keep in touch with the horrible things people have to say about him, but keeps on producing movies the way he wants. Several films have been made with the 9/11 incident involved with the plot, but is America ready to poke fun at the death and mayhem? The release date for POSTAL is still a secret, but one can expect this controversy to spark debate all over the syndicated and political media once it is out. Whether or not the film is any good may not matter once again for Uwe and he’ll move on with his criticism and keep making money and movies.

Ugh. That's a touchy thing to make a comedy about.

I dislike Uwe as much as the next critic, but even with the touchy subject matter the trailer did look a bit funny....a bit.
