Just saw this well filmed and moving movie by Mel Gibson. His all out for details is really commendable. Although this movie is not in English, I still enjoyed it thoroughly with the subtitles of course. Great location too... wonder where they filmed it. Do you guys like or dislike after watching it?

Mel Gibson has lost his mind. The movie was well shot but thats about it. Was he kidding with the story line. The trailers for the movie showed the ending scene like that was the beginning of the movie... that's what I was waiting the entire movie for. The story line of when the Europeans arrived and how the two civilizations interacted. Instead, it was like one of those bad action movies where some just gets chased around the entire time. And I could have sworn that when the tiger attacked that I saw hand puppets. That was when I wanted to get up and leave the theatre but I have a thing about not finishing movies. I think I have to finish entire movies (even bad ones) to have enough credability to comment on them. So now I can voice my opinion on how terrible that movie was. Mel Gibson in Braveheart incredible... Mel Gibson's judgement on Apocalypto... awful. But you are right about the location of where they filmed it - the area was beautiful... and I did wonder about the tribal actors and where they really came from. And I love subtitle movies... Hero, Crouching Tiger... wouldn't be the same without the subtitles... it takes away from the drama. but the subtitles here were wasted. Let me know if I am crazy for hating it.
