I felt that the Y in the title 'The pursuit of HappYness' symbolises that it's our point of view on life that really matters, of how we keep going and persevere without giving up in coherence with what we believe what we know, howsoever different it might be from others.

The pursuit of Happyness is indeed a motivating and inspiring movie. The best part of it all is that it is a true story and not just some Hollywood Rags to Riches story. I belief what had really motivated him not to give up was the time when he had spent a night in the toilet with his son. It was a trigger for him to really DO something now I would watch that movie at least once a month for inspiration. It just goes to show that whatever hardships you go through in life, you need to think for the future and how you can make what your past was a better future. I really encourage everyone to watch the movie if you had not done so. P.S I bet his wife must have regretted leaving him eh.. lol

Maybe in the literal point of view they have emphasized on it to attract people, because people will take notice that it's spelled the wrong way, drawing some attention. Everybody lives in pursuit to happiness. It's amazing that Thomas Jefferson realized it earlier. This is my most favorite movie.

i think that d misspelled happiness in the title of d movie is a suggestion to d viewers. It says dat sometimes things may appear wrong on d exterior but no problm is so big so as not to have a solution. And if we believe in our inner strength instead of crying over split milk, we would come out of the hole, smiling.
