Minimum is free - just send your child to a public state school, it doesn't cost anything (well you would have to buy the school uniform, and stationery, and give them money for their lunch or provide a packed, but that's all. The education itself is free). If you want to spend money though you can send your child to a private school. Many private schools are sole-gender, although you do get a few mixed-gender ones. The tend to have overall better academic results although it's perfectly possible to get good grades from going to a non-paying state school also. I went to a private school when I was little for 4 years. The cost of the school I went to depends on age: Nursery (3-4 year olds): Morning sessions - £295 per month Afternoon sessions - £246 per month School day - £398 per month Full day (8am-6pm) - £507 per month Primary school: Infants - £461 per month Juniors - £563 per month High school: £722 per month Sometimes children can get into private schools by means of scholarships or bursaries. The school that I went to grants them for academic, artistic, musical or sporting abilities. They also offer discounts if more than one child from the same family (siblings) goes to the school at the same time. I hope this helps.
