I think I am. A lot of people tell me that I am.
But I don't have the diplomas... because there are no diplomas for intelligence.
Being very good in math or being very good at your job... does not make you intelligent. It just show that you have study hard to learn one thing.
Intelligence is about general knowledge.
Being able to fix things with your hands when you need to.
Being able to find solutions everytime you have a problem.
Learning to understand how people think and what's make the world go around. You won't learn that at school. You'll learn it through your life experiences... if you are willing to learn.
Non intelligent people never learn anything.
An IQ test will give you a first idea of your intelligence. If you score 120 or more... you got nothing to worry about.

I KNOW I'm intelligent..very much so actually...Do I have the grades to back it up? Nope in fact I'm a high school dropout...BUT I have yrs of experience behind me being on my own, in some nasty situations etc etc....I also am self taught...Just because I stopped going to school does NOT mean I stopped learning...Being a Virgo I'm CONSTANTLY researching things, learning etc etc...I'm a VERY curious person and have been all my life.....
As far as I'm concerned, grades have zip to do wiht how intelligent a person is really....I mean lets face it, how many ppl cheat their way through school...To me intelligence comes from life experience, living, being hands on and so on...

I did until i watched the show "are you smarter than a 5th grader". I didnt egt very far at all. the question that tripped me was, " what is the leat amount of coins you need to make 61 cents?"
I said 4, the answer was 3. Just a cute anecdote I thought i'd pass on.

but i managed to get a job that i retired from with 30 years service nd also Social security..it was not what i knew but who i knew that made the difference in between success and failure..that and dumb luck and faith in God

I don't want to sound vain at all, but I definitely consider myself to be a highly intelligent person. What I actually DO with that intelligence is another story. ;)
Grades in school are not the most accurate way to determine levels of intelligence. As was suggested in a previous post, they are more likely to prove who is better at memorizing certain things than others. lol!
There are so many levels of "intelligence"... the two most common being "street smarts" and "book smarts". Both require certain levels of expertise and knowledge, and yet in many cases, when a person is good in one area, they aren't necessarily able to be as good in the other. But once we find which one suits us best, then we should hone in on that style, and make it work for us. :)

Tjhockey53, grades are often not good determinants of a person's intelligence. I know and remember several classmates who always managed to pass exams, but never could remember a thing after the examination - they simply memorized for the exams without understanding a thing! Although it is good to have the grades to show it, I have found that most very intelligent people do not do very well in tests, especially in those subjects they are very good at and sometimes twice as bad in multiple tests. Why? I think most are almost perfectionists and tend to spend time reasoning out what they consider inappropriate or not quite correct statements. I even know of some who will rephrase the questions of professors!

i dont think i consider myself intelligent. although my parents do say i am but i obviously know is so that they wont make me feel bad. i cant be intelligent because when i try to pay attention, my mind all of sudden seems to wonder someplace else. it is part of my disability. but i do want to be and i want to be able to talk to people who are smart, other than those who just asks easy questions that are supposed to be easy for people my age. the questions i get and conversation they bring up is like those talking to little kids.

I think I can be intelligent but I'm not. I mean last year I really need over a 85 on the math final and all I did was just really try for once and got a 91, That grade let me pass the grade and move on to the high school. So yes I consider myself smart.
