I'm looking for opinions on this new diapering system I found today. I actually bought the starter kit and checked out the website, and they seem almost too good to be true. The kit consists of two cotton diaper covers with waterproof inserts into which you place a disposable, flushable diaper 'pad'. You then velcro the diaper on the baby (velcro is in back, which is great design). Once the diaper is soiled, you tear down one side of the insert, dumping the 'core' of the liner into the toilet. You break this up with a little wand that is included, then toss the outer liner into the toilet and flush. There is a short video on the website that shows how easily this is accomplished and it looks great to me! The wet diapers you can compost, they biodegrade within two months. No diaper pail, no smelly trash cans, no landfill... all the convienience of disposables with the cuteness and eco-friendliness of cloth. You also only have the cloth covers to wash, so they don't increase your laundry load. And they are cost equivalent to disposables, so really there is no excuse to use harmful chemical-laden diapers anymore! I'm psyched! Has anyone used these, and would you consider trying them?

You'll have to let us all know how you like them! They do sound ingenious!

I'm pretty sure they are close in cost... I can't wait to try them out myself and see how I like them. I truly think it's genius...

I didn't hear good reviews on them on some cloth diapering message boards. Some said it plugged up their toilets and it was hard to travel with them. I think if I had a compost it wouldn't be so bad. I'm just kind of a regular cloth diapering mama. Plus, my son hates anything papery near him lol, once he got into cloth he didn't want anything else. I think this is a happy medium and I think it's great because some disposable diaper mamas are considering these.

That's my favorite part... moms who use disposables only now have an alternative that is completely biodegradable! I have a ridiculous amount of cloth diapers.. I've been collecting from freecycle, plus my mom bought me about 50 pre-folds, so I intend on doing about 95% cloth. I like these because the other 5% of the time (on road trips, at grandma's house, etc.) I can use these biodegradable diapers instead of 7th Generation or some other brand. I don't know how well they would work for everyday, all day use, but I've been reading some product reviews and it seems like most people are really happy with them. I also love that the starter kit (on sale for 20$, with a coupon for 2$ off... 18$ at my co-op) comes with two covers that will work just as well over cloth pre-folds. I needed a few more covers anyway, so I couldn't be happier about this! Ahhh... diapering! Who knew one could be so excited about it?

I think they are a great idea but they are so expensive. The flushable diaper pads are more than disposables so I wonder if any of those mamas will try them. Please let us know how you like them.

I think that diapering system is fantastic.... From the way you've described it, it's so eco-friendly and I bet your soon-to-be child would be quick to be toilet trained. Care to let me know the brand and if there's a website for it? I might consider those if I have my third one. I'm so into eco-friendly products. I think you should give it a shot!! : Take care and good luck!

i wanted to use the gdiapers but they arent in too many stores yet and i live in the middle of no where. so i never got a chance to use them. they seem awesome though. i wish i was able to use them. but i also have 2 in diapers right now so they would have to be in a local store for me to be able to keep up with it. if you use them..let me know how it goes. i used seventh generation diapers and love them. good luck!!
