Do you believe vote result base on text messages ?

Many reality shows result are base on text messages vote, like singing contest, 30 second to fame, beauty contest, etc etc.
My simple question is, do you believe that the result is real? No recalculate process or something strange ?
Have you been participate in sending text messages like that ?
I heard that many spectators and participant are complain in newspaper, they said that sometimes the operator / provider is not reliable enough to accomodate all the votes from all users, so the result is not fair enough.
So what do you think of that?

Hi, here in the UK we've had some pretty controvertial stuff recently about voting for such shows as these and some have turned out to be fake. I've never really voted for stuff like this so couldn't really comment on whether it's real or not, but I would be pretty angry if I had spent money only to find that it's not real!

Personally I think it's a total waste of money, they have already made their mind up who they want to win, getting you to vote earns them a lot of money, in fact the amount of people who vote is shocking, and the amount of money they get from people doing this. I have never and refuse to do it out of principle. It's a waste of time and money.
