I am hoping to find people with the same illness that I have. This back pain wakes me up early morning and disappear when I am sitting or standing. Anybody there who experienced the same problem?

I was diagnosed with buldging disc's in my lower back about 9 years ago. It was right after my daughter was born..luckily for me I worked for a group of Orthopods. My doc said at first he thought it was from holding the baby wrong..new mommy and all. I would get shooting pains up my spine and it would wrap around my rib cage, very painful. So after about a month of this he ordered a MRI. My disc's are the most common L/4-L/5 S1. So I tried about 6 different medications, physical therapy ect...The only thing I have found that works for me is a medication called Ultram 50mg. I only need to take 1 daily to help and on flare up days I only take 2 max. It really seems to help me, and from what I have found it is not dependant I have not takin it for the last 4 years and dont need it now unless I have a flare up. I hope this helps.. jonikijave www.joniki.com

Have you been to your physician? I ruptured a disk in my back and didn't know it. It wrapped around my spinal cord and compressed the nerves. So there wasn't any pain. The neurosurgeon figures it was probably ruptured for 6 months or more before the symptoms got bad enough that they found them. I now have permanent damage to my spinal cord and numbness in my feet, legs, hips and back that I'll have to live with for the rest of my life. I beg you to seek medical attention. If it's nothing, then you're out the doctor's visit...but it might keep you from ending up like me.

Thanks, carpenter5. Doctor's visit might be the best option to ease or permanently cease this pain.

My experiences are similar. Did I say my? It should be ours, mine and my husband's. We both feel stiffness at the back the very first thing in the morning. I've tried physiotherapy, and he used strong pain killers (Arcoxia) from the doctors. We have even changed the mattress to something so called back-support series but none of these methods work. I wish to know some solutions too.
