Rankings With Squidoo

This discussion is aimed at people who use Squidoo on a regular basis to create lenses. Lenses are Squidoo's name for what is basically a niche targeted mini-site. I have noticed that when I update an existing lens and hit the publish button that the Squidoo ranking for that lens seems to improve for a few days. Has anyone else who creates lenses on Squidoo noticed this or is it just my imagination?

Squidoo is a content site and when you add new content of change the layout you will see an increase in activity. Which is great that way pages that become static drop from the top, so it is an incentive to continue adding content, good content and you will continue to rise in the ranks for that niche's keywords and phrases. I have a couple of lenses and have found that I really like Squidoo. Plus it is so easy to do once you get started and there is lots of help so you don't have to be left in the dark wondering how to be successful on Squidoo. You can see my Squidoo pages if you go to my profile here and look in the bottom right. As they say: Do you Squidoo?

It sounds as if you really enjoy Squidoo, just as I do. I am in the process of making several niche lenses for Squidoo. Thank you for your input.

No, its not your imagination at all. Regularly publishing your lenses mean that they are being used and they are important and you are therefor rewarded with good rankings. I regularly publish my lens by changing or adding something on it about every two days. It keeps it in the top 200 lenses at least. I have never had a top 100 lens only in my category where one of my lenses is currently #9. Tips to getting high squidoo ranking - Add something to your lens on a regular basis and publish. - link to it so that you can get traffic ( the more people visit your lens the more your ranking climbs as well) - Add a tag and publish the lens. - Change your lens photo sometimes to keep it fresh and publish.

Thank you for your input. It's great to know that it's not my imagination and that when I republish a lens that my rankings actually do go up. Thanks also for the helpful tips.

I joined the site just two days ago. So I have no idea about your finding. But if your lens has visitors and they rate it , give it 5 stars, the ranking rises significantly. Thats all I noticed so far.
