Is there something in the water?

It seems that fathers are making their rights heard lately as parents: my ex has demanded residential custody of our daughter and doesn't want to pay any child support at all to me now; my best friend's ex (who happens to owe her $2k in back support) want their son all summer; and now former Governor of NJ Jim McGreevy is demanding custody of his daughter so that she cannot accompany her mother on a book tour. What a far cry from years ago (heck, it's still going on!) of men knocking up a woman and then refusing to pay child support! Am I missing something?

what is residental custody? My husband and his ex share custody. 3 days here and 3 days with her. There is no child support because the children are with each parent an equal amount of time. This works well for us. Is this what you mean?
