Does anyone here think that Don Imus has gone way too far, regarding his deplorable comments on the Rutgers Basketball Team?I for one believe he should be fired immediately! There is no room in society for people who use the airways,to degrade, slander and make outrageous racial comments. His lame apologies to Rutgers University ,do not ,in my opinion hold any weight whatsoever. He's clearly doing this to save his own skin. And besides, saying your sorry is, way too little and too late.

You talk about Imus and how horrible he is and that is your opinion, but it is not fair for you to say that he clearly is saving is own skin.Do you know him? did you hear him say this? Haven't you ever done anything you were sorry for?He can't win either way.If he didn't say sorry people would not be happy.Whats done is done and he can't change it.

You are right about him putting people down and saying mean and hateful things and I'm not saying that I like him or agree with what he does, but he has been doing this to hundreds of people for many years and the worst of all is he was paid.I'm just wondering why people have a problem with it now?

I can't believe anyone could think any differently, no matter who they are.Is he "stupid", yes, and incredibly cruel and bigoted.Thank you for your reponse and you'll be glad to know that MSNBC has cancelled his t.v program and many sponsors have pulled out as well. I applaud them for this. This man doesn't belong on the airways, or, anywhere where his voice can be heard.

Do you even know the comments this man made on a national radio broadcast? I won't even repeat them here.If you think that it's ok to make comments that are not only degrading to women, but downright racial and slanderous and call this "free speech", then I know why hatred and bigotry still exist in this society. It's one thing to be able to speak your mind in a free society,it's quite another, when your comments have produced an avalanche of extreme anger, hurt feelings and cries for justice. Today, hundreds and hundreds of people are calling for his resignation, or for him to be outright fired and i'm sure these people from government officials, the Rutgers University staff and students alike, and people in general believe in the right to "free speech" as we all do,Imus has taken that "right" way too far.

I believe so too and I think he did get fired for his outrageous racial comments. That will teach him a lesson. Of course his apologies don't hold any weight because he is doing it only to save his job not because he is really sorry for what he said or thinks that he shouldn't have said that. What he said is what he thinks. He has the right to think whatever he wants but he should keep his thoughts to himself. I just can't understand racism. People who are racist are mean people.
