My personal definition of what friendship is, is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between a person or persons where everyone has some companion to talk to when their in need of one. I would define friends as people whom you can have several types of relations with and feel several emotions for that person. Someone that one might go to in time of need. However, friendships differ between people. For example, the friendship that someone may have between them and their parents would be different than the friendship they might have with someone their age. There are many different friendships that people have. Friendships can exist between best friends, friends, lovers, children, parents, siblings, and many more. All of these differ in some way. Everyone has a best friend. Whether it be with a person or an animal. Sometimes people who are lonely find that they have a companionship with their dog or cat. But, mostly when teenagers are the ones being discussed then they usually have more than one person they can go and talk to. To me a best friend is thought of as a person you tell everything to. They know your deep...

While defining friendship I can only put forward the xpectation I have from my a friend . I expect him or her to be understanding , to be worthy of sharing your secrets with , to be so loyal that he does not leak out the secrets even after he is no more a friend , to offer selfless help , to bear with me when i ma not in good mood , to praise me when i do something good and condemn me when i do something bad , share his life with me , offers solutions to my problems and discuss hiw own with me .

To me, friendship is when you don't need to be together all the time to know you care about each other--knowing you can count on the person to always be there for you even when odds seem impossible.

Friendship for me is being able to sit in an old t-shirt and slacks, watching a bad movie and eating popcorn on a friday night. Friendship is being able to call at three in the morning when you need someone to talk to. Friendship is giving space, and still always be there.

Friendship is knowing someone's good AND bad sides, and still being with them because the good is greater than the bad. Friendship is silences that doesn't get uncomfortable, because you don't need to fill it with unnecessarily words. Friendship is knowing that if you got into jail, they wouldn't bust you out because they're in the cell with you going "That was fun!" Friendship is being able to be apart without worrying about losing it. Friendship is about being able to talk about the things that happen in the world and the smaller things that only matter to a few persons with equal importance.

For my true friendship is knowing that someone will always be there for you, and knowing that you will always be there for them. I have three friends( but I have two more that are on there way up to that hight of friendship) that I will do anything for, these three people is more important to me then the rest of the world.

For me a friend is someone who is there for you even before you realize that you are in need of one, someone who can withstand all you mistakes and without passing judgment, someone who stands up for you when your beliefs are being doubted, some one who has managed to become part of your family, last but not least someone who would never allow anyone to break the bond you share. That is my definition of friendship, I see those qualities shine through my own best friend. We have been friends for over twenty five years now and we have never lost sight of it, despite all the tribulations we have faced in life.
