Roomates !!!!

I've had a few awesome roommates, and a few GOD-AWFUL ones. Roommates that were dirty, stole, lied about me, tried to get me kicked out, hurt my pets, missed rent, didn't pay bills, etc etc etc. And then the good ones? They were like family.. we talked, laughed, shopped for our house and all wanted the same thing -- to have a 'home' that wasn't our parent's house, and we all worked hard to make sure it was as neat and tidy as we could make it, and well decorated. They're so touch and go.. sometimes I wish I'd never have to do the roommate thing again.

I rented a room which was only a few minutes walk from school upon the recommendation of my mother. She feared for me since I had classes until 10 pm when I was in college. I had this classmate who asked me to share the room with her since I use the room to pass the night only anyway. Seeing nothing wrong with it, I took her in. A problem cropped up months later. I found that she had spread rumors about me. I moved out and left the room to her. It was never hard to get another one during those times. Later on, I learned that she transferred, too. She cannot afford to pay for the place by herself. Too bad. It is the only experience I've had with roommates.
