Do you accept unknown friend requests in your friendster/myspace account?

In my friendster account, I have received a lot of friend requests from people I don't know. I would not accept him or her if he/she invites me in my other account because it's a private account. However, if it's in my account where anyone can view it, it's just fine with me. How about you? Does someone who invites you to become his/her friend at friendster matters to you? Do you accept them no matter who they are? Or do you neglect of ignore them?:)

you make a good point as to the privacy issue, but as a christian i would have to say, judge not lest ye be judged. my friendship is not measured by the friends i keep, it is measured by the number of friends who keep me. i would never turn down an invitation to be friendly, i offer my opinion to those who might ask, even to the few heathens of this world we call mylot, and believe me i have responded to as many discussions as i feel i can, no matter what the issue, friend to the children of god, we are all the same in his eyes

I must say thank you so much for the kind reply. Even if you don't have the idea on what friendster is, I still do appreciate your thoughts about friendship. :) It is indeed true that friendship is measured by the friends who keep us. Anyway, friendster is a website where you can be able to gather friends all over the world. (Just like mylot). However, in that site, there's no forums to join at. You can only share your blogs, photos, videos, etc to other people through this site. It's www.friendster.com in particular. :) I'm glad for your reply my dear friend. :) God bless you! :)

I am on Myspace and when I get a request for a friend from someone I don't know I deny them. I get so many people a day who I have no clue who they are. I am on there to keep in touch with the friends and people I know not to see how many friends I can get that I don't know

I have less than a hundred on my friends list on friendster. I am not really that active on friendster itself and seldom finds time to open it, add friends up, or to even enjoy the features it gives to its members. But if I do get a friend request, I usually check their profile first... and yeah, if I know them personally I just approve their request right away..but for those unknown people who wanted me to become their friends, I sometimes send them personal messages asking how they got my friendster account and what are they up to. :P

well for me i really wanted to be invited even those whom i don't know. The reason is that , i wanted to add a comment or respond to their discussion because i have observed that their discussions are more interesting...

Well, I have accounts at a few online social networking site. Here on mylot, I don't mind adding people as friends when they request me that I don't know because there is no personal information displayed in my profile. However, the only reason I started friendster, myspace, and facebook accounts is to find friends I've lost touch with and keep updated with the friends I currently have. There is a lot of personal information visible, such as personal email accounts and phone numbers and instant messenger names. Because of this, I keep all my accounts set to private, and only approve people that I have personally met. For those social networking sites, I am not out to meet new people because I am afraid of identity theft and spammers and such...I have been a victim of identity theft in the past, and it is not fun at all.

Yeah, I do. There are also some people who adds me up as their friends and I just accept them. I don't mind adding up friends. But if it's a stalker.. then I won't! LOL.. sometimes it's also good to make your profile private for safety purposes ;)

I have received a lot of friend requests in Friendster too. sometimes I don't know who he was. but I always accept them. I'm affraid that I will hurt their feeling. Although, maybe they know me from game online or my sister's friend.. eventhough I don't know them.. -__-a

I have a myspace acct and it's set to private. I only add people and I agree with those that feel that there should be a Myspace etiquette class to follow or something. If you're gonna request to be added to someone who's private, then send a message. They're set to private for a reason!!!

I have private account and a "public" account. So if they try to add me in my private account, I reject them.

before i do.. but i have so many friends in friendster now and i don't know all of them. so, recently i've been scanning who is giving me friend requests before i actually approve it. if i don't have any connection with the person and i don't recognize the person based on the pictures, i would not approve their friend request.

Well, I am on MySpace as opposed to Friendster but still, I never add people until they have sent a message and it is personal and I like them. And even if someone requests to be a friend and is not all about "I make money by blah blah blah" on their site, I still think it is kind of rude to expect someone to just add you without even knowing why they wanted to or what their intentions are in the first place. On that, it just occured to me that I am coming up with MySpace morals. How funny! But I mean really. It is a subculture. Great topic, thanks!

Not really, it depends if they are connected with me or with my friends... I accept their invitation.
