The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person..

I have not heard it expressed like that before! I really like that! Elderly do have much that they can teach us. Times are different however, and we must take their advice and apply it to the best of our ability to our own time and situation. I dearly love sitting down and speaking with older folks, they really do have a lot to offer!

I think it's both. We learn from our own mistakes and we should listen to them too. Because there are experiences that are not worth repeating. It's ironic that sometimes, even if they've told us a hundred times, we still go for it -- and go through the same trouble. Although bad things do happen, it is different from the effort to take caution in one's step not to make it happen.

Elderly people can give you good advices about lot of matters since they are lot more experienced than we are. However, Those advices can serve only as a warning, lesson or something like that. You cant really go according to what the elderly say. Not because there is no respect but I believe each one of us should learn from our own mistakes and make our own decisions in life. Thats how we should face life. Some bitter experience for someone else would sometimes be a nice experience for us. You never know how something can treat you because each one of us is different, coming from entirely different circumstances and living atmosphere. I believe one should just keep in mind what the elderly say and act according to what your own mind tells you to...
