From Thesunonline.com: As Faye stood in front of bearded Ahmadinejad he asked her through a translator: “How is your daughter?” Faye fumed in response: “I don’t know, Mr President, I haven’t seen her for 13 days — remember?” Watch our exclusive interview with Faye here The Islamic fanatic stuttered: “Oh yes. But haven’t you been allowed a phone call to her?” Faye replied: “No I most certainly have not”. Taken aback by her forthright response, Ahmadinejad was momentarily lost for words. Red-faced, he then muttered: “Er, well, good luck in your life and your future”. And with that he nervously signalled to flunkies to move Faye on so he could meet the next hostage. I think this is an interesting insight into what actually happened between the Iranian Government and the British Hostages. However, I still believe all of this was just a ploy by President Tom for image reasons. Thoughts?

I'm sure you're right about the meeting with the hostages being a ploy for image reasons. Possibly because Iran knew it was going to have to release them. Perhaps, this was to maxiumize the benefit from their capture before letting them go. Why would Iran let the Brits go home? It's been almost 20 years now, but in the late 1980's, President Ronald Reagan had most of the Iranian Navy sunk over less than this. I doubt if they have forgotten. Additionally, another US Navy carrier task force left for the mid east. What would you do if you were the Iranians?
