Have you ever heard voices that weren't really there?

I'm bipolar, and I've heard a few. I've had friends in the past who did too. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this. (And no, I'm not crazy.)

I'm not bipolar... but I have heard voices that weren't really there. I've also seen things that weren't really there. It really freaks me out...Makes me wonder about myself when noone else in the room saw or heard anything. And no, I'm not crazy either.

This is what happens with me exactly. Although it hasnt' happened as much recently, I can remember such occurances throughout my life span. It's insane to think that so many people hear voices/see images that so many other people don't. Perhaps it's a perception factor more than someone being "crazy". Don't get me wrong - some ARE crazy but simply seeing/hearing something that others don't shouldn't be the only symptom. I once lived in a house where I was constantly seeing the same image - that no one else noticed. A friend of mine also saw an image repeatedly that no one else seemed to notice. We didn't see the same things but at the time were questioning our sanity on such facts.

I too am bipolar and have been ever since my adolesense. I have honestly never heard voices, ever. I am pretty sure that seeing and/or hearing voices, people, objects or sounds not there is almost a sure sign of Schitzophrenia. It is also a very bad mental illness just as bipolar is. Having to deal with either one of these illnesses without the proper medications can be tough. Maybe if you keep hearing these voices, you should talk to your doctor about it and see what he/she can do for you.
