Do you ( or does your wife) get a Mammogram every year? I got a letter in the mail the other day from the hospital commander suggesting several tests I should have done, now that I am "middle aged" amongst the recommended tests listed was Mammography. I have heard conflicting arguments regarding the efficacy of this type of test. Some B. cancers are not even detected by it and the woman gets a false sense of security. It is also believed by some circles that having the radiography done can actually cause *B* cancers. I just don't know if I should have one done or not. Not to mention the whole modesty issues I have.

Having had a maternal aunt die of brea$t cancer and the fact that my mother has had several suspicious tumors (thankfully all have been benign) I have been gettting a mammogram every two years. Now that I have reached age 50, I am supposed to increase the mammograms to yearly. I am late for my mammogram and I do not know if I will go yearly or continue with every two years. The research is sooo conflicting (as is ALL research on medical issues).
